We are delighted to announce the appointment of Ariane Adam as PLP’s new Legal Director.

Ariane has been the Deputy Director at the Equal Rights Trust (ERT) which works to advance equality using the law. She has led the organisation’s legal research work on the rights to equality and non-discrimination, as well as its programme of support to lawyers providing legal services, and ERT’s own litigation.

Ariane is a barrister with a claimant-focused public law practice. She has previously led and supported strategic litigation, policy and research initiatives for several non-governmental organisations, including Amnesty International and Reprieve.

Ariane said:

“I believe that PLP’s work is needed more than ever to ensure power is held to account and discriminated and marginalised people are empowered to get justice. I am excited to start this role as Legal Director and to support the incredible work of PLP’s casework and research teams.”

PLP’s Director Jo Hickman said:

“We are delighted that Ariane Adam will be joining us as PLP’s next Legal Director. She brings considerable charity leadership experience together with strong practical credentials, and I can’t wait to start working with her.”

Ariane will start at PLP in January 2022.
