Mick Antoniw MS, MS for Pontypridd and former Counsel General for Wales 10:20-11:20 What is judicial review and how does it work? Charities and community groups in the UK often use the courts to ensure that public bodies including local authorities, the police and NHS, and all aspects of Central Government, local and developed Governments behave lawfully and fairly. They do this largely using judicial review. Our speakers will address topics, including what judicial review is and how it works, what is ‘winning’ in a JR and what to do if you lose, where and how to seek advice, and we’ll look specifically at its current use in Wales.
