See our latest briefing on the second reading of the Judicial Review and Courts Bill on why a number of amendments tabled for consideration should be included to ensure access to justice.

We echo the call for:

  • Amendments No. 12, 13, 15, 19, 20 and 23 to Clause 1: These amendments would protect the interests of groups and individuals challenging unfair or unlawful decision-making by public bodies or the Government
  • Amendment No. 26 to Clause 2: This would help ensure Cart JRs remain an important tool in identifying and correcting errors of law with potentially catastrophic consequences for the individuals concerned.
