The Ministry of Justice plans would make it ‘harder or impossible’ for charities to use the law to campaign against government decisions, according to a charity lawyer.

Charities must fight a Ministry of Justice consultation intended to make it more difficult to use the judicial review process to campaign, umbrella bodies and sector legal experts have said.

Umbrella bodies including the National Council for Voluntary Organisations, Navca and Acevo have said they are concerned about the government’s proposals, and have urged their members to respond.
